Sani Danja: The King Of Northern Entertainment

When you talk of entertainment in the Northern part of Nigeria, one name rings the bell- Sani Danja.

Sani Danja is a trailblazing complete artist – actor and musician. He has acted, produced and directed over 600 Hausa films; Sani Danja is a gem in the Hausa film industry known by many as Kannywood both as an actor and a singer. Sani Danja is an icon Kannywood is largely incomplete without. Sani Danja is also a force in southern cinema as he appears in many Nollywood films. He was featured in Nigeria first season movie Idemilli 1-6.

On the music scene, Sani Musa Danja has had a couple of records and awards to show off his success in the industry with his contemporary sound. He made a huge success story on his first single titled Girl that I love which recorded over two hundred thousand views that gave it recognition as a classic hit. Sani Danja went on to feature Terry G on the second single Basu Iyawa followed by Ruwa Guba.

And now comes Alhaji (Download here) which has proven to be the best video to ever have come from northern Nigeria. Alhaji video is enjoying airplay all around local and international stations.

There is no doubt that 2014 has been the most successful year in Orezi’s career and he’s not relenting as he drops the Hausa version of his Shoki. To capture the northern part of the country, he features one of the biggest acts in the northern Nigeria – Sani Danja.

Sani Danja is apparently the king of northern entertainment, and a national entertainment icon. It wasn’t a surprise when he became the first African artist to appear on The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
